Mr. Jason Bennett teaches high school band and music technology at
American International School--Hong Kong.
Mr. Bennett is celebrating 10 years of teaching. He began his career in 2000 at Whitko High/Middle Schools in northern Indiana and later taught at Cypress Lake Center for the Arts in Fort Myers, Florida. In 2008, he completed a two year position as the music director at John Carroll High School in Fort Pierce, Florida. He has directed and taught a wide variety of ensembles/classes including concert bands, marching bands, jazz bands and combos, choir, percussion ensembles, woodwind ensembles, brass ensembles, world music, steel band, beginning piano, music theory, music history, and music technology.
Mr. Bennett earned a Bachelor of Music Education (BME) degree from Indiana State University-Terre Haute and a Master of Education (MEd) degree from the University of Central Florida-Orlando. His principal instrument is percussion and he is particularly interested in steel pan and world drumming.
