Mr. Bennett is celebrating 12 years of teaching. He taught grades 6-12 music in public and private schools in Indiana and Florida, USA. In 2008, he accepted the high school music position at American International School--Hong Kong. In his career, he has directed and taught a wide variety of ensembles/classes including concert bands, marching bands, jazz bands and combos, choir, world music, woodwind/brass/percussion ensembles, steel band, beginning piano, music theory/composition, and music technology.

Mr. Bennett continues to emphasize music integration by working closely with teachers in other subject areas and by promoting music throughout the entire school. Among other projects, he organized the annual AIS Blues Contest and also presented a workshop entitled "
Unleashing a Giant: Integrating Music into your School Community" at the 2010 EARCOS Teacher's Conference in Manila, Philippines. In 2011, he traveled to West Africa to study traditional drumming and dancing with the goal of integrating this experience into the music curriculum.

Mr. Bennett earned a Bachelor of Music Education (BME) from Indiana State University-Terre Haute and a Master of Education (MEd) from the University of Central Florida-Orlando. His principal instrument is percussion and he is particularly interested in steel pan and world drumming.
