and now to Southeast Asia. He has directed and taught a
wide variety of ensembles/classes including concert bands,
marching bands, jazz bands and combos, choir, percussion
ensembles, woodwind ensembles, brass ensembles, world
music, steel band, beginning piano, music theory, and music
history. Mr. Bennett is currently developing a new music
technology curriculum at AIS and studying the role and
importance of developing "creativity-based" methods of
learning.
Mr. Bennett earned a Bachelor of Music Education (BME)
degree from Indiana State University-Terre Haute and a
Master of Education (MEd) degree from the University of
Central Florida-Orlando. His principal instrument is
percussion and he is particularly interested in steel pan

participate in the NEH Summer Teachers Institute "J.S. Bach
in the Baroque and the Enlightenment." In his free time,
Jason enjoys getting lost in Hong Kong, hiking, vegetarian
cooking, and following politics. Well, he doesn't "enjoy"
following politics, but feels that he should.
